Mustard Seed Farm is located in the Weathersfield woodlands of Vermont's Connecticut River Valley near Mount Ascutney. On about 10 acres near the end of an ancient dirt road is our cozy log home that is the headquarters and everything else for what was intended to be our retirement home away from the hectic life as ICU nurses at the University of Kentucky. To the point, we became interested in the local farm markets, decided to become involved and the rest is history, as they say.  What was a small casual endeavor has received so much acceptance that we are now involved near year round producing for the Norwich Farmer's Market, our net customers and some national Vermont based catalogs including Vermont Country Store and Vermont Life Magazine Catalog.

No, we don't grow mustard seed, though the there is enjoyment in our herb and perennial gardens. The "mustard seed" referred to was in a charm that Joni's Mom gave her when she went off to Bethany College in West Virginia from her home in Toronto, Canada , to symbolize that through faith in herself she could do most any thing. So when it came time to choose a name for our business about 15 years ago the "mustard seed" came to mind.

All of our products are made right in our farm kitchen, small batches mixed by hand to insure real home made flavor. Joni has used many of the recipes for nearly fifty years and is always looking for new ones.

Mustard Seed Farm is one of thousands of home or farm based businesses in Vermont, often referred to as the Green Mountain State. It is true that the mountains are a beautiful green but even more often they are enveloped in large amounts of very white snow. While we are relative newcomers (referred to as flatlanders), it is easy to get swept up in the very independent ambiance of traditional Vermonters.

Thank you for visiting our home through our web site. We hope you will consider ordering some of the products we have prepared for you, your family and friends. Your satisfaction, of course, is guaranteed.
